Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed judges Dheebanaz Fahmy and Mohamed Saleem to the High Court of the Maldives.
JSC appointed two new judges to the High Court, following the resignation of Judge Abdul Rauf Ibrahim and the dismissal of Judge Abdulla Hameed. The two new judges were sworn in during a ceremony held at JSC on August 9. Their oaths were administered by Supreme Court Justice Husnu Suood.
Judge Dheebanaz Fahmy holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from International Islamic University Malaysia and a Master of Law University of Canterbury, New Zealand. She has 17 years of experience working in the criminal justice system and had been serving as a judge at the Criminal Court since September last year.
Meanwhile, Judge Mohamed Saleem holds a bachelor’s degree from Kulliyathul Dhiraasathul Islamiyya and served as a legal officer at the High Court for 12 years.
