Ministry of Defence has conducted a discussion forum with stakeholders to discuss the drafts of the National Maritime Security Strategy (NMSS) and the Defence White Paper (DWP).
The NMSS and DWP are essential policies formulated by the defence ministry to implement the government’s vision on protecting the maritime domain of the Maldives.
The discussion forum on the drafts of NMSS and DWP were held at Meeruma Hall on August 7. The forum was attended by Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi as well as Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan and Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula.
The defence ministry revealed the forum was conducted in two sessions. The first session focused on discussions on the NMSS, while the second session focused on discussions on the DWP.
The forum was attended by foreign diplomats, journalists and officials from several state institutions, among many key stakeholders.
