President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has accredited Aishath Shaan Shakir to serve as the new Ambassador of the Maldives to Germany and Ahmed Shiaan as the new Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The accreditation ceremony took place at the President’s Office on July 20.
The new Ambassador of the Maldives to Germany, Aishath Shaan Shakir previously served as the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chief of Protocol Ahmed Shiaan last served as the Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Aishath Shaan Shakir was nominated by the president for the post of Ambassador to Germany, following the decision to appoint former Ambassador Ahmed Latheef as the new Foreign Secretary of the Maldives. The parliament approved the appointment of Shaan as the new Ambassador to Germany in May.
