Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened applications for the Vinares flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
HDC will be accepting applications for a two-month period. As such, interested individuals can submit their application forms online before September 15, 1200hrs.
The Vinares housing project involves the construction of 10 towers with 1,344 housing units, all of which are three-room apartments. The project, which aims to resolve some of the housing difficulties faced in the Greater Male’ Region, underwent several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, HDC has said all major construction work has been completed while the interior finishing works are nearing completion.
HDC has announced the eligibility criteria for applicants for the Vinares flats. As such, 100 apartment units will be allocated for cases where the main applicant is not registered in the Greater Male’ Region but has lived in Male’ for the past 15 years or more, and cases where the main applicant is registered in Male’ for less than 15 years but has lived in Greater Male’ Region for 15 years or more.
Additionally, prior to the submission date of the application, the applicants must not have signed any agreements or started making any payments to acquire or to begin the process of acquiring a private housing unit or land more than 600sqft. If an applicant signs and begins making payments on any other private real-estate-housing development agreement of the Greater Male’ Region, the government will retrieve the units awarded under this housing scheme. Also, the main applicant must not have sold any residential units or land more than 600sqft in the Greater Male’ Region within the past three years.
Furthermore, the main applicant and co-applicant must not have been awarded any residential units or lands under any previous government housing initiatives or projects prior to the submission date of the application. The monthly gross income of the applicant and co-applicant individually must also not exceed USD4,000.
