MFDA bans sale of Thompson Seedless Grapes

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has banned the sale of Thompson Seedless Grapes.

In a press statement, MFDA stated that Europe’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) has warned that this brand of grapes contains a higher than normal level of pesticides. It noted that the brand was exported from India-base Euro Fruits Private Limited and was wholesaled by Netherlands-based Global Green Team.

MFDA stated that the sale of Thompson Seedless Grapes has been banned in the Maldives for health reasons.
