Colombo Security Conclave discuss implementation of Roadmap for Cooperation

The member states of the Colombo Security Conclave have discussed the implementation of the Roadmap for Cooperation for 2022-23. The discussions were held at the 6th Deputy National Security Adviser level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave, hosted by the National Security Council Secretariat of India in Kochi on July 7.

The meeting was attended by delegations of the founding members of Colombo Security Conclave; Maldives, India and Sri Lanka, as well as the newest member of the Conclave, Mauritius. Delegations from Bangladesh and Seychelles participated as observers.

The participants discussed the implementation of the Roadmap for Cooperation for 2022-23 and the decisions taken at the 5th NSA level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave from March 9-10, 2022 in the Maldives. As such, discussions were held on decisions relevant to maritime safety and security, countering terrorism and radicalisation, combating trafficking and transnational organised crime, cyber security and protection of critical infrastructure and technology as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

The Maldives’ delegation at the meeting was led by Foreign Secretary Ahmed Latheef. Meanwhile, Deputy National Security Adviser of India Shri Vikram Misri, Principal Coordinator Security Matters of Mauritius Yoidhisteer Thecka, and Chief of Defence Staff of Sri Lanka General Shavendra Silva led their respective delegations.
