COVID-19 vaccination cards will not be available during holidays

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has advised individuals to obtain their COVID-19 vaccination cards before the holidays as the health agency will not be issuing vaccination certificates from July 8-16.

HPA’s statement comes at a time when Maldivians are travelling for the holidays, and vaccination cards are needed to enter many countries. HPA urged individuals to obtain their vaccination cards and certificates before the holidays. As such, HPA stated individuals who need to obtain their vaccination cards are required to e-mail the health agency by July 7.

Individuals can receive digital vaccination cards via the COVID Safe portal, and HPA has advised travelers to update their information via the portal prior to travel.

The latest statistics from HPA show that 85% of the population have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which amounts to over 384,000 Maldivians.
