USAID donates 200,000 rapid antigen test kits to the Maldives

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated 200,000 rapid antigen test kits to the Maldives to assist the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation was officially handed over during a special ceremony held on June 30. The donation was received by Minister of State for Health Dr. Shah Mahir.

The US has provided numerous assistance to the Maldives to help the country recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the US has provided more than 500,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines, 60 ventilators and over USD7 million in other forms of COVID-19 response assistance to the Maldives.
