SATA begins evaluations

South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has begun the country evaluations. These evaluations will be conducted in six South Asian countries.

The judging panel consists of six members which include local and foreign parties. Meanwhile, online voting is now open via its website.

The SATA Awards are one of the most prestigious tourism awards in South Asia. SATA is the first-ever regional travel award endorsed by multi-national associations, providing the tourism sector of the South Asian region with recognition for their facilities and service excellence. It aims to encourage and raise service standards in the region’s tourism industry.

SATA is open to entries in 39 categories this year. More than 500 tourism products from the Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh have been nominated for the award.

SATA 2020 was held online and SATA 2021 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The applicants for last year's awards will be nominated for this year's edition.

SATA has been endorsed by 15 Maldivian and foreign parties.
