Gov’t launches portal for housing applications

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has launched the new Gedhoruverin portal for housing applications.

The new portal was officially launched on June 26 by Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam. The portal enables online applications for housing schemes announced by the government. It is also designed to provide information on the eligibility criteria and policies for housing schemes as well as updates on submitted applications through text or email notifications.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Minister Aslam announced the opening of applications for two new housing schemes through the Gedhoruverin portal. As such, the minister revealed applications have been opened for 3,000 land plots for citizens of Male’ City under the “Binveriyaa” housing scheme, and 4,000 housing units under the “Gedhoruveriyaa” housing scheme. He added the administration aims to award the land plots under the Binveriyaa scheme to its recipients within the next one year.

The land plots under Binveriyaa scheme will be released from Gulhifalhu. Meanwhile, the housing units under the Gedhoruveriyaa scheme will be released from Hulhumale’. The two housing schemes are part of the government’s pledge to resolve the housing difficulties faced by residents of Male’.
