President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has attended the luncheon hosted by Prince of Wales Charles Philip Arthur George, for the newly appointed heads of government from the Commonwealth nations.
After the lunch, President Solih joined other Commonwealth heads of government and their representatives as they gathered for a group photograph. President Solih and First Lady Ahmed also joined the heads of delegations from the Commonwealth nations for the banquet hosted by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.
President Solih is on an official visit to Rwanda to attend the 26th CHOGM. The president is accompanied by First Lady Fazna Ahmed and a high-level delegation on this trip. It is the first CHOGM to be held after a two-year delay due to the pandemic and the first held since the re-accession of the Maldives to the Commonwealth in 2020. This year's CHOGM theme is Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming.
