Contracts awarded to develop additional facilities for two schools

Ministry of Education has awarded contracts for the development of additional facilities for two schools in the atolls.

The projects that were awarded on June 23 include the construction of two additional classrooms in Angolhitheemu School, Raa Atoll and the upgrade of Rakeedhoo School, Vaavu Atoll for the establishment of a satellite school. The contracts for the two projects were signed during a ceremony held at the education ministry.

Construction of two additional classrooms in Angolhitheemu School was contracted to KD Enterprises Private Limited. The project was awarded at a price of USD89,000, to be completed within three months.

The project to upgrade Rakeedhoo School was contracted to Well-Trading Private Limited. The project was awarded at a price of USD207,000, to be completed within two months.

The government has contracted a large number of projects to develop additional facilities for schools in the atolls. The projects are part of the government’s policy to develop the education sector of the Maldives.
