Road Development Corporation (RDC) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development to conduct an apprenticeship programme under the COVID-19 Income Support Project. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of RDC Moosa Ali Manik and Minister of State for Economic Development Neeza Imad.
Under the programme, RDC has opened apprenticeship opportunities in 14 areas. Application for the programme has been opened through the Job Centre Portal of the economic ministry.
The COVID-19 Emergency Income Support Project aims to facilitate the recovery of individuals who lost their jobs or income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic ministry said the apprenticeship programmes will help to increase employability by providing on-the-job training to individuals impacted by the pandemic.
The economic ministry has signed MoUs with several state-owned companies to conduct the apprenticeship programmes.
