Vice President Faisal Naseem has sought updates from the relevant authorities regarding the preparations to facilitate the departure of Maldivian pilgrims for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
During a meeting held with authorities, Vice President Naseem clarified information on the departure and travel arrangements and other important matters related to the Hajj pilgrimage. Discussions were held on providing easier means of transport to the airport for pilgrims, and on providing assistance to pilgrims at the airport.
The Maldives received a quota of 453 for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, all of which were issued to Maldives Hajj Corporation. 353 of the slots were reserved for those already in the waiting list of Maldives Hajj Corporation, and pilgrims for the remaining 100 slots were selected in a draw. The pilgrims are scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia on three flights, which are on June 26, June 29, and July 2.
