The Maldives and the Netherlands have expressed hope for stronger bilateral relations. The discussion took place during a virtual farewell call on the Foreign Secretary of the Maldives Ahmed Latheef by the Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Maldives Tanja Gonggrijp.
During the meeting, Foreign Secretary Latheef congratulated Ambassador Gonggrijp on the completion of her successful tenure and expressed sincere appreciation for her hard work in strengthening the close cooperation between the Maldives and the Netherlands. They also reflected on a number of key bilateral cooperation areas between the two countries including trade, investment, environment, and climate change.
Ambassador Gonggrijp thanked Foreign Secretary Latheef for the support extended to her during her tenure and expressed hope for stronger bilateral relations between the Maldives and the Netherlands, and enhanced cooperation through the European Union.
