Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, has attended the Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium 2022, held in Tokyo, Japan.
This year’s Pacific Amphibious Leaders Symposium was hosted by the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force and the US Marine Crops Forces from June 13-16 in Tokyo. The symposium brought together senior leaders from 18 participating delegations from across the Indo-Pacific, Central America, South America, and Europe to foster dialogue and strengthen relationships in support of a secure and stable Indo-Pacific.
The event consisted of panels, discussions, bi-lateral and tri-lateral engagements, and a capabilities demonstration. Participants shared ideas, best practices, and recent experiences with amphibious operations. They collaborated on common interests and engaged in meaningful dialogue to advance amphibious interoperability and crisis response capabilities.
On the sidelines of the symposium, Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef held bilateral meetings with the Commander at US Marine Corps Forces, Lieutenant General Steven R. Rudder and Chief of Staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force, General Yoshida Yoshihide.
