The Auditor General's Office (AGO) has decided to conduct national-level audits in three social sectors of the Maldives.
The AGO revealed audits are to be conducted on protected areas, water and sewerage services, and waste management. The AGO has requested for public support in gathering information for the audit of these three sectors. As such, the AGO has urged both public and private sector employees, as well as other individuals to provide their input for the audits.
The AGO stated individuals who wish to provide information for the audits can do so through the website of the office. The AGO assured the public that information provided to these audits will be protected.
The purpose of the national audits on protected areas, water and sewerage services and waste management is to determine if the projects, programmes and initiatives carried out in these sectors follow due process and serve their purposes.
