Maldives and Belgium explore ways to further strengthen cooperation

Maldives and Belgium have explored ways to further strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The discussions took place during a courtesy call by Ambassador of Belgium Francois Delhaye on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel.

During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Delhaye on the completion of his successful tenure and thanked him for his hard work in strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and Belgium. Both State Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Delhaye also explored ways to further strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of education, trade, investment, environment, and climate change. State Minister Khaleel also expressed gratitude for the ambassador’s strong commitment and contribution to strengthening the partnership between the Maldives and the European Union.

State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary, and Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
