84 cases of COVID-19 reported last week

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that 84 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Maldives last week.

As per the weekly COVID-19 statistics of HPA, there were 84 cases across the country during the past week, including 37 cases in the Greater Male’ Region. Another nine cases were reported from the atolls, while 38 cases were reported from resorts, safaris, and industrial islands.

HPA also revealed the COVID-19 vaccination rate has gone down significantly in the Maldives. As per the statistics, 45 people received their first dose of the vaccine last week and 91 people received their second dose. Meanwhile, 651 people received booster doses last week.

HPA stated that 88.06% of the eligible population of the Maldives have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 84.87% have completed two doses, and 35.68% have received a booster dose.
