President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the council members of Thulusdhoo, Kaafu Atoll and held extensive discussions on the administration’s developmental plans for the island.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the council members spoke about advancing projects in Thulusdhoo, including relocation of the waste management centre; construction of a new hospital building, powerhouse, polytechnic building, school classrooms and library; development of a water supply network, and coastal protection.
The council members also shared other needs of the residents with the president, including improving healthcare services further, developing roads, and improving banking services. Meanwhile, the President of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Thulusdhoo shared with President Solih the challenges they face in discharging their duties, including financial constraints and lack of adequate resources and facilities.
Speaking with the council members, President Solih assured them that he would closely monitor the developmental progress of the island and consult with relevant government stakeholders to find amicable solutions to their concerns. The president also briefed the representatives on the latest updates on the developmental projects currently underway and planned for the island.
