The National Awards Committee has opened nominations for the National Award for Public Service and published the criteria for the awards in the Government Gazette.
National Award for Public Service is the most prestigious award conferred by the president on individuals who have served the nation for over 35 years and have been observed as diligent and steadfast workers. The award was introduced in 2021.
The awards committee revealed any individual who has worked in a government agency or subsidiary where the government holds the most shares for over 35 years is eligible for the award. The nominations can be filed by an organisation, an individual, or the nominee.
The awards committee will consider the quality of the work and the contributions of the nominees to the development of their respective fields. The award would also recognise the individual achievements of the nominees.
All nominations would be accepted through the designated portal for the award from June 1 to August 4. The award will be conferred on the recipients by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the official ceremony held to mark Republic Day.
