Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has decided to conduct walk-in interviews for Maldivians interested in working as labourers.
MTCC stated the walk-in interviews will be conducted from 0400hrs to 1900hrs on June 2 and that 67 applicants will be hired through the interview process, which is only open for unemployed youth.
Furthermore, MTCC stated that interested individuals are required to have completed basic education and have experience or interest in working in construction. Any hired labourers will receive a monthly salary between USD600-900 and will receive food and accommodation at the worksite, as well as medical insurance and pensions.
MTCC is carrying out numerous infrastructure development projects across the Maldives and has been hiring young people to work at project sites in their residential islands. The state-owned company is currently carrying out projects at 80 sites and has a workforce of 3,500 employees. The company stated it aims to employ more Maldivians and has been conducting walk-interviews for this purpose.
