MTCC mobilises site for Maakurathu harbour development

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has mobilised the site for harbour development project in Maakurathu, Raa Atoll.

The harbour development project in Maakurathu was contracted to MTCC in January this year. The project involves repairing and expanding the existing harbour, which was constructed in 2009 but had not been fully completed.

Scope of the harbour development project in Maakurathu involves 45,000cbm of harbour dredging and construction of a 129m quay wall, 140m breakwater, 85m revetment, and 28m groynes. The project also involves the construction of 641sqm of pavement and installation of 26 mooring rings, five mooring buoys and nine harbour lights. The total value of the project is USD1.72 million.
