Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has stated the discipline of the nation’s youth is essential for maintaining internal security and stability.
The home minister made the remarks while speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the Youth Leaders Forum in Milandhoo, Shaviyani Atoll. The forum is organised by the Youth Leaders Network, established by the home ministry with representatives from local college/university students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Home Minister Imran said the aim of establishing a Youth Leaders Network and coordinating such forums is to produce leaders among the youth who will carry the nation forward in the future. He noted the home ministry allocates a special priority towards youth development, as the discipline of the youth is essential for maintaining internal security and stability of the nation.
Speaking further, Home Minister Imran said the future of the nation is determined by the strength and capability of the youth. The minister noted any nation with a generation of educated, skilled and healthy youth will move forward in rapid pace. He expressed hope the current generation of youth are prepared and determined to lead the nation forward towards a brighter future.
The Youth Leaders Forum in Milandhoo was attended by a large number of youth from Shaviyani Atoll. Several additional activities were held for the youth alongside the forum.
