Vice President Faisal Naseem has called on new graduates to utilise their knowledge and expertise to address and resolve the main issues afflicting society. He made the remarks while addressing the latest graduates of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) at its Convocation Ceremony 2022.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Naseem stated human resource development is a key priority of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration. Highlighting that higher education was not as accessible in the past as today, the vice president noted that the administration’s policies strive to ensure every student receives equal and equitable opportunities to pursue higher education.
Vice President Naseem also spoke about promoting respect and kindness towards others and spreading positivity. Stressing that knowledge would best be utilised to resolve social issues, he went into detail about some of society’s main problems today.
At the function, Vice President Naseem presented certificates to graduates of Kulliyyah of Education’s Bachelor of Teaching Quran and Master of Teaching and Learning programmes and a graduate who completed the PhD in Islamic Judicial Sciences and Legislative Policy from the Kulliyyah of Sharia and Law. He also presented awards to top achievers from the other programmes.
