Design competition opened for Hulhumale’ Phase II Islamic Centre

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has opened an architectural design competition for the development of the Islamic Centre in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The design competition was opened with large prize announced for the winners. As such, the winner of the competition will receive a prize of USD45,000, while the second and third ranked designs will receive prizes of USD13,000 and USD6,500 respectively.

The Islamic ministry said the designs submitted to the competition must be unique and completely new. Designers interested in taking part in the competition can participate until August 25. Inquiries regarding the competition can be communicated to the ministry before June 7.

The Islamic Centre in Hulhumale’ Phase II is to be developed with a prayer hall, office, multipurpose hall, seminar room, library and classrooms as well as a commercial area, parking area, recreational area and a staff canteen.
