The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICOM) has introduced an online portal for the submission of requests under the Right to Information Act.
The “Mahoali” portal was officially inaugurated by Information Commissioner Ahid Rasheed. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the commissioner said in addition to submitting information requests, the portal would also enable review requests to be submitted if a state institution refuses to disclose information or if the information provided was not sufficient.
The Mahoali portal was launched with links to more than 50 state institutions. This includes government ministries, independent institutions and local councils. ICOM said the network of the portal will be expanded in the future with links to more institutions.
