Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced it has opened the opportunity for 100 individuals to participate in its apprenticeship programme.
HDC is conducting the six-month apprenticeship programme to give interested individuals the opportunity to study and gain work experience while earning a monthly compensation of USD390. The state-owned company will be training apprentices in 10 fields including welding, plumbing, electronics, carpentry, as well as refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics. It will also train individuals for the positions of construction site officer, assistant building maintenance officer, mason, gardener, and heavy vehicle operator.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16-35 and should have completed O’level studies or have a level-two accreditation approved by the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA). HDC stated that it will prioritise applicants living in Hulhumale’ and individuals interested in starting a career in applied fields. All participants who graduate from the apprenticeship programme will receive a level-three accreditation and the top graduates will receive the opportunity to work at HDC. Interested individuals must apply by May 31.
