President participates in Majeedi Run

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has participated in the Majeedi Run event being held as part of Majeediyya School’s 95th-anniversary celebrations.

President Solih and First Lady Fazna joined the torch relay event on the evening of May 16. They also participated in the torch relay held to mark the start of the Majeedi Run on May 14. The event is held as part of Majeediyya School’s 95th-anniversary celebrations and to start the countdown to the centennial anniversary.

Majeedi Run began on May 13 at Majeediyya School and will conclude after 95 hours. Participants of the event include students of Majeediyya School from grades 1-9 and sports enthusiasts.

Majeediyya School has begun a special five-year countdown for its 100th anniversary. The school was founded in 1927 under the name Madharusathul Salahiyya, which was later changed to Majeediyya by former President Mohamed Ameen. Majeediyya School first opened with 60 students and now teaches around 1,500 students.
