Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi has stated men play a crucial role in building families with strong ties.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate a programme to promote the role of men in strengthening family bonds, Gender Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi said many people face difficulties in building a happy marital life after growing up without the emotional support required after going through a trauma such as sexual abuse. The minister noted men play a vital role in building strong, supportive families with close bonds, that protects its children. She highlighted the importance of family bonds to protect children from all forms of abuse.
As part of the programme launched by the gender ministry, information sessions are to be held to create awareness on building strong family bonds. The ministry said the programme will be held as a series of events, targeting different groups.
