MTCC prepares to commence coastal protection project in Milandhoo

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced the final preparations are ongoing to begin the fieldwork of the coastal protection project in Milandhoo, Shaviyani Atoll.

MTCC revealed the project site for Milandhoo was mobilised on May 7. The state-owned company revealed the materials required for the project have been transported to the site, and the final preparations to begin work are underway.

The project aims to provide a solution to the problems faced by Milandhoo due to erosion. Under this project, MTCC is tasked with constructing a 954m revetment to protect the eroding area, along with 115m groynes. The total cost of the project is USD2.4 million.
