Maroshi Police Post officially inaugurated

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has inaugurated the new police post established in Maroshi, Shaviyani Atoll. The post was officially inaugurated by Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla and Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed during a special ceremony held on May 12.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Commissioner Hameed said MPS is undertaking several efforts to increase the capacity of the institution in order to ensure a safe and peaceful society. The commissioner noted the services of MPS have improved significantly over the last few years, adding MPS is determined to strengthen public confidence and trust in its services. He expressed hope the new police post in Maroshi and the establishment of neighbourhood police services in the island will help to eliminate crime in the island and establish a peaceful community.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several senior officers of MPS as well as members of the Maroshi Island Council and officials from state institutions in the island.
