Three harbour projects and two coastal protection projects contracted to MTCC

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to undertake harbour development projects in three islands and coastal protection projects in two islands.

The contracts for the projects were signed during a ceremony held at the planning ministry on May 12. The contracts were signed by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and the CEO of MTCC Adam Azim.

The projects contracted to MTCC include the upgrade of the harbour in Ukulhas, Alifu Alifu Atoll at a price of USD2.4 million, upgrade of the harbour in Dhigurah, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll a price of USD2.9 million and the development of the harbour in Maa’ungoodhoo, Shaviyani Atoll at a price of USD3.9 million. In addition, MTCC has also been contracted to develop shore protection structures in Dhiyamigili and Vilufushi in Thaa Atoll at prices of USD1.5 million and USD712,000 respectively.
