Ministry of Higher Education has awarded scholarships to five doctors for specialisation training.
The scholarship award letters were issued during a special ceremony held at the higher education ministry on May 12. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan congratulated the winners of the scholarships, and expressed hope the scholarships will enable the development of well-trained, capable doctors in different fields of medicine. He noted the government places a high priority on developing the capacity of the health sector.
The scholarships were awarded to five of the 10 individuals who applied for the 15 scholarships opened by the government in March. The five scholars will undertake their training in the fields of ophthalmology, anesthesiology, dermatology, gynecology and internal medicine. Each of them will be bonded to a regional hospital following the completion of their training.
