Police investigating case of vandalism on Ex-President Yameen’s residence

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched an investigation into a case of vandalism on the residence of the former President Abdulla Yameen, and the office of the opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

PPM revealed the main gate and the garage gate of the former president’s residence was sprayed with a message calling for his arrest. PPM also revealed a poster outside the office of the party was vandalised, and the area was littered with papers containing messages against former President Yameen. The party said the case would be officially lodged at MPS.

In relation to the case, MPS said it has been notified of the vandalism on former President Yameen’s residence and the PPM office, adding an investigation has been launched into the case. However, no further details were disclosed by MPS.
