MMPRC and Qatar Airways to conduct joint promotions

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Qatar Airways have signed an agreement to conduct joint promotional activities.

The agreement was signed by the Managing Director of MMPRC Thoyyib Mohamed and the Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways Thierry Antinori on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022.

Speaking to PSM News regarding the agreement, Thoyyib Mohamed said MMPRC has always been working closely with major airlines operating in the Maldives. As such, Thoyyib noted that MMPRC and Qatar Airways did many activities in the past year as well noting with the new agreement, such work would be resumed. He added important activities have been planned in collaboration with Qatar Airways under the agreement to promote the Maldives.

Qatar Airways has won various awards as one of the world's most popular airlines and it will assist in promoting the Maldives as one of the world's leading destinations, according to MMPRC. Qatar Airways is one of the longest-running airlines operating in the Maldives and it was also the first airline to arrive in the Maldives when it reopened its borders after the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The airline operated 21 weekly flights to the Maldives when the country reopened its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Qatar Airways currently operates 28 flights per week, with over 1,000 people operating every day.
