Elections of the Maldives (ECM) has been elected to the executive board of the Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA).
ECM was elected as an executive board member with votes from the majority of member states at the AAEA General Assembly held in Manila, Philippines. ECM was represented at the general assembly by President Fuad Thaufeeq, Vice President Ismail Habeeb, and Assistant Director Mariyam Shahiya.
At the general assembly, India was elected the Chair of the current term of AAEA, and Taiwan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, and the Maldives were elected as Vice-Chairs.
