Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that 108 projects were conducted in the first quarter of this year. It is an increase compared to the last quarter of last year. MTCC conducted 103 projects in the last quarter of 2021.
According to the financial report published by MTCC, the 108 projects include 48 harbour development projects, 14 land reclamation projects, 21 beach protection projects, and three airport development projects.
Meanwhile, MTCC successfully completed eight projects in the first quarter which include the harbour development in Milandhoo in Noonu Atoll, Fulhadhoo in Baa Atoll, and Dharan’boodhoo in Faafu Atoll, in addition to the construction of main roads in Ungoofaaru in Raa Atoll. Moreover, 14 new projects commenced in the first quarter of this year and 15 new projects were contracted to the company.
Last year, MTCC made the biggest profit in its 41-year history. Maintaining the momentum, MTCC has had a successful quarter in the first quarter of this year. Likewise, MTCC made a net profit before tax of USD4.8 million for the first quarter which is an increase of 3.8% compared to the first quarter of 2021.
