Health centres in Feydhoo, Dhiggaru to be expanded

Ministry of Health has contracted two companies to expand the health centres in Feydhoo in Shaviyani Atoll and Dhiggaru in Meemu Atoll.

Riser Private Limited has been contracted to expand the health centre in Feydhoo within 150 days at a cost of USD259,000, and Veeru Group Private Limited has been contracted to expand the health centre in Dhiggaru within 135 days at a cost of USD259,000. The companies are tasked with expanding the waiting areas and increasing the number of doctor consultation rooms in the health centres, as well as building counseling rooms, multipurpose halls, medicine storage facilities and ambulance parking garages.

The health ministry stated that it is continuing to contract companies to expand health centres in the atolls on completion of the design phase. Currently, projects to expand health centres are ongoing in various phases in 16 islands, and the government has been opening more projects for tender.
