Islamic ministry signs with Parley Maldives to stop plastic pollution

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has signed an agreement with Parley Maldives to stop plastic pollution.

At the signing ceremony, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir said the ministry fully supports efforts to stop plastic pollution. Additionally, Founder of Parley Maldives Hamdhoon Hameed praised the ministry agreeing for setting an example and participating in the effort to keep the environment free of plastic.

Upon signing the agreement, the ministry has agreed to implement the Parley AIR strategy at its offices and premises. The AIR strategy stands for avoiding plastic, intercepting plastic waste, and redesigning the materials as well as methods and thinking around plastic. Parley Maldives is involved in gathering and recycling plastic in over 128 islands.
