BML to support the upgrade of Home for People with Special Needs

Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the refurbishment and upgrading of Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo, Kaafu Atoll. The initiative was launched as the first in the series of high-impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

BML revealed the project will focus on establishing a new children’s ward, modernising and refurbishing the in-house kitchen, enhancing the existing library and revamping the staff facilities at the centre.

Commenting on the project, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Tim Sawyer said BML is delighted to provide a solution to the current issues faced by staff working at the centre and residents living under state care. The refurbishment will ensure the areas that require major upgrades are up to standard including the new Children’s Ward that will help support the care of children under its care, Sawyer added.

To date, BML has announced several initiatives such as upgrading the national library and scholarship fund among others as part of its anniversary series.
