Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed that the current housing projects and the planned projects for Hulhumale’ totals 11,000 housing units. HDC is currently conducting projects to build luxury flats and middle income flats in Hulhumale’ as part of the work to solve the housing issues in the Greater Male’ Region.
Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Suhail Ahmed said Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation Limited has been contracted to develop 6,000 housing units and that 4,000 housing units have already been built while Apollo Holdings are building 1,000 housing units, and private companies are building 7,000 housing units in Hulhumale’ Phase 1.
Furthermore, Managing Director Suhail said HDC will soon announce new land plots to build housing units ranging from luxury to middle income flats. HDC is now working to finalise the process of issuing 1,000 land plots and will submit the report to the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure this month.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced plans to resolve housing difficulties faced by residents in Male' by issuing 2,000 land plots from the reclaimed land in Giraavaru, Kaafu Atoll, and issuing an additional 1,000 housing units in Hulhumale’.
