Fenaka surveys Baa Atoll islands for water, sewerage projects

Fenaka Corporation Limited has begun surveys on five islands in Baa Atoll to conduct water and sewerage projects.

Fenaka began the surveys in Kudarikilu, Kihaadhoo, Dhonfanu, Fulhadhoo, and Fehendhoo in order to conduct sewerage projects under a design-and-build policy. The state-owned utility company has been contracted to develop sewerage systems in a total of 10 islands. It stated that surveys are being conducted in all islands by EPOCH Associates Private Limited and that the work includes meeting locals and gaining their opinions on the projects.

Currently, Eydhafushi has water supply and sewerage systems while a water supply system has been recently inaugurated in Dharavandhoo, and fieldwork has begun for its sewerage system. Additionally, the water and sewerage systems in Goidhoo are in the testing stage while the water and sewerage projects in Hithaadhoo are nearly complete.

Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is conducting the water and sewerage projects in all islands in Baa Atoll, except for the project in Hithaadhoo, which is being conducted by India-based Mohan Mutha Exports Private Limited.
