Female chief judge appointed to a superior court for the first time

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed Huzaifa Mohamed as the Chief Judge of the Family Court of the Maldives.

Huzaifa Mohamed received her letter of appointment from the President of JSC Hisaan Hussain on March 30. She becomes the first female judge to lead a superior court in the Maldives.

Huzaifa Mohamed attained her Masters in Corporative Law from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She was appointed as a judge on July 11, 2007.
